There was a pall around our city,
no dog or person in the streets,
just the leftovers from a plague of iron rain.
All seekers of peace were gone.
Carnivores searched the dark, empty holes,
finding only ghosts and memories.
No need for an alien enemy.
We are the cannibals consuming
our flesh, our essence.
Life must be characterized by a sense of responsibility, not only nation to nation but also human to human – Dalai Lama
