Here are some then and now pictures of the house on Pacific Ave. in Winnipeg.

The first is from 1954 and the second is from 2015 from Google Earth Street View.

I have a few memories from this house. I recall having a nap with my grandfather and I also recall sleeping in the upstairs bedroom that had no outside window but did have an inside one. There was a baby gate at the top of the stairs. I remember tightrope walking on the white picket fence, the empty lot next door and the grey stone school across the street. I’m told this house was known as ‘The Bachelors House’ because my grandfather housed men from China, immigrating to Canada, under his sponsorship. I’ll show some to you later.
