I imagine myself on this ball of rock and iron, molten at the core, just floating weightless throughout the universe, like a feather on the wind. The juxtaposition of it boggles the mind. The utter unlikelihood of even existing, let alone being aware of it, is near beyond belief. It makes our day-to-day troubles seem insignificant. It makes our brutality and cruelty and pointless aggression seem so bizarre and pathetic. Yet it makes our kindness to others the example of true purpose. None of us knows why we are here, but we are. It is better to be kind than to be cruel.
