Who is he, this saddest man?
All this sorrow, his moans and wails,
his sobs and loveless cries, and more again.
What casual heart could find the love
in this wretched soul of his
and heal his sorrow, his moans and wails
and more again.
Just love him a little and be happy he came
through a lifetime away, to awakening dawn,
his hands reaching out in the scarlet of morn,
to you and me.
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive – Dalai Lama
