Leftover People

There is no light so bright to cleanse this shame

Condemned to suffer by a plight of birth

The cold and bleakest dark where burns no flame

Abandoned, ignored your suffering claim

Leftover human, savage of no worth

There is no light so bright to cleanse this shame

This shame is mine by many other names

I shoved you down to wallow in your dearth

The cold and bleakest dark where burns no flame

So little in that other life, no fame

My passive ignorance and shameful mirth

There is no light so bright to cleanse this shame

Like rotting meat, lives cast away with blame

That feeds my greed and bloats my sorry girth

The cold and bleakest dark where burns no flame

But for great fortune, we would be the same

Rise in rage to your place upon this earth

There is no light so bright to cleanse this shame

The cold and bleakest dark where burns no flame
